Every day, your ERP or applications produce flat data files, database extract files or SCS spooled files that are either printed just to check or processed using a composition software application.
For budgetary or organizational reasons, you perhaps need to migrate your hardware or applications, which means you need to transfer the data files by transcoding them from EBCDIC to ASCII or by implementing a Unicode environment.
